Abstract

Abstract. The article examines metrological culture as a key component of the research competence of future pharmacists, which is a necessary condition for high-quality training of specialists capable of conducting scientific research with a high degree of accuracy and reliability. Metrological competence, encompassing a system of knowledge, skills and value orientations, shapes pharmacy students' ability to ensure the correct interpretation of measurement results in their professional activities. The academic discipline «Fundamentals of Chemical Metrology» plays a crucial role in the professional development of future pharmacists. The main thematic areas of the practical and lecture sessions of the course are presented, including: working with significant figures, detection of gross errors, statistical processing of experimental data, calculation of confidence intervals, comparison of methods by reproducibility, comparison of means of two samples, assessment of correctness of determinations, analysis of result convergence, regression and correlation analysis methods, as well as the application of probability theory in pharmaceutical research. These topics form a comprehensive system of professional knowledge and skills necessary for performing specialized tasks in compliance with the requirements of scientific ethics and quality standards. A model for forming metrological culture is proposed, combining theoretical, practical and motivational-value levels. This comprehensive approach fosters not only knowledge acquisition and skill development but also the formation of a responsible attitude toward the quality and reliability of research results. The implementation of this model in the educational process enhances the level of research competence among future pharmacists, which is essential for ensuring the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products. The study results can be used to improve educational programs and raise the quality of training specialists in pharmaceutical education and science.
