Myocardial revascularization – leading method for the treatment of ischemic heart disease and myocardial infarction

The article shows the historical stages in the development of the leading methods of surgical treatment of cardiovascular diseases – coronary stent and coronary bypass surgery. The given analysis of published data demonstrates the advantages and disadvantages of coronary artery bypass surgery and coronary stent implantation in the treatment of coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction. Revascularization improves quality of life, reduces severe cardiac complications, enhances the working capacity of patients in the postoperative period and in the long run.
