Abstract

The aim of the work. Сarrying out a comparative analysis of the parameters of the standardization of black currant fruit and defining approaches to the development of national monographs "Black currant dry fruits" and " Black currant fresh fruits".

Materials and Methods. We compared parameters of standardization from British Pharmacopoeia, State standard 21450-75 “Black currant fruits” and State standard 6829-89 “Black currant fresh fruits”. The analysis was conducted on the following indicators: title of the article, definitions, requirements for the content of biologically active substances, identification by macroscopic and microscopic characteristics, indexes, quantitative determination.

Results and Discussion. It was found that it is not entirely correct to compare the standard criteria, one of which is developed for the food industry, and the other for standardization of medicinal plant material. In addition, both standards have not been reviewed for more than 25 years. The monograph of British Pharmacopeia gives only a few modern criteria (macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of raw materials) for the standardization of fresh black currant fruits. At the same time, all documents do not contain identification and determination of content of biologically active substances.

Conclusions. Analysis of literary sources indicates the presence in the fruits of black currant a different groups of biologically active substances that have a wide range of pharmacological activity. Modern methods of standardization of black currant fruits are absent. The development of national monographs on fresh and dried black currant fruits is an actual problem.
