The aim of the work. To prove the feasibility of establishing a combined drug based on thiotriazolin and carbamazepine. To study the impact of excipients on the process of extrusion, surface quality and uniformity of tablets mass based on carbamazepine and thiotriazolin obtained by wet granulation method.
Materials and Methods. Active ingredients - thiotriazolin with carbamazepine (1.5: 1), excipients (fillers, disintegrants, binders, grease). Tablets were compressed by wet granulation. The influence of excipients in tablets was studied by the following indicators: the process of pressing, the exterior surface of the tablets after manufacture, dosage uniformity of tablets weight.
Results and Discussion. As a result of variance analysis of experimental data, it was found that the pressing process, the exterior surface of the tablets after manufacture and uniformity of weight dosage of carbamazepine and thiotriazolin tablets are affected by the nature of the fi ller, baking powder, binding and greasing excipients. Thus, ICC 101 has the best impact on the process of pressing tablets among fi llers, pregelatinized starch is leader among weeders.
Potato starch has a positive impact on the quality of the surface of the tablets with thiotriazolin with carbamazepine after manufacture among weeders. In uniformity of tablets weight dosage stearic acid is leader among greasers, among weeders leader is pregelatinized starch, among fillers leader is MCC 101, among binders the greatest impact has a 2 % solution of HPMC.
Conclusions. The infl uence of four groups of the excipients on the process of pressing, appearance and uniformity of tablets dosage with carbamazepine and thiotriazolin is studied. Most of the studied 16 excipients are suitable for making tablets with carbamazepine and thiotriazolin by wet granulation method. For the studied parameters (the process of extrusion, surface quality of pills, uniformity of dosage) diagrams of benefl ts of levels studied factors are constructed.
