Abstract

The aim of the work. To develop the composition and technology of a cosmetic product in the form of lipstick for the treatment and prevention of cheilitis, and into study the technological and consumer properties of lipstick.

Materials and Methods. For the study, various series of cosmetic lipsticks were obtained, 6 series of lipsticks with different composition of excipients were obtained. The lipsticks included various waxes, solid and liquid oils, oil extracts and vitamins.

Results and Discussion. During the research, the composition of lipsticks was selected based on the recommendations of practicing dermatologists. Model samples of the cosmetic product were obtained with different combinations of excipients and were studied according to the following indicators: organoleptic properties, determination of uniformity and dispersion, thermal stability, spreadability, melting point, determination of pH. Also, a study of consumer characteristics of the obtained lipstick samples was conducted. Based on the results of the above studies, the best series was selected.

Conclusions. The influence of various combinations of excipients on the technological and consumer properties of lipsticks for cheilitis correction was studied. It was determined that all samples have satisfactory pharmacotechnological indicators, are homogeneous with a satisfactory pH value, however, some of them have worse spreadability. According to the developed questionnaire, a survey of respondents was conducted regarding consumer properties, namely; appearance, ease of application, stickiness, film adhesion, taste and smell, overall impression, degree of comfort. The results of the survey showed that the leaders of these studies were: series No. 3 and series No. 6 with different combinations of excipients.
