MARKETING ANALYSIS OF MEDICINES FOR NAUSEA AND VOMITING

The aim of the work. Exploration of the assortment and pricing proposals in the domestic pharmaceutical market for medicines in group A04 – Antiemetic drugs and medications that alleviate nausea.
Materials and Methods. Materials: The State Register of Medicines of Ukraine, data on the defined daily dose, minimum and maximum retail prices for medicines in group A04 in pharmacies in Lviv as of November 30, 2023 (Period 1), and February 28, 2024 (Period 2). Methods: Information search, analysis, generalization, and marketing research.
Results and Discussion. It was found that 46 assortment positions of medicines in group A04 were registered in Ukraine in Period 1, and 49 in Period 2. Most of them were ondansetron-based drugs (65.2% and 61.2%, respectively). The number of domestic assortment positions decreased from 56.5% to 53.1% due to an increase in imported assortment positions. Regarding dosage forms, infusion solutions and tablets predominated in both periods.
An analysis of ondansetron assortment positions showed that their price offerings in Lviv pharmacies decreased by 17.7% during the study period (from 3101 to 2552). However, no pharmacy offered all ondansetron assortment positions. A low level of competition and insufficient economic accessibility were identified for most ondansetron assortment positions.
Conclusions. Trends in the assortment and pricing characteristics of medicines in group A04 – Antiemetic drugs and medications that alleviate nausea – on the domestic pharmaceutical market were studied.
