The aim of the work: to determine the main difficulties faced by pharmaceutical professionals when dispensing medicines by e-prescriptions in the pharmacies and to identify patterns of these difficulties related to the pharmacy's location, the experience of the pharmaceutical professional and their age.
Materials and Methods. The survey method has been used in the work; the analysis of the obtained results was carried out using mathematical and statistical methods, in particular, the calculation of correlation indexes, and the operation of converting categorical variables with the Label Encoding methods was applied.
Results and Discussion. The possible causes of difficulties of dispensing prescription drugs from pharmacies, which may be related to factors that can be divided into several categories have been analyzed. The impact of pharmacy's location, as well as the age and experience of the pharmaceutical professionals, was assessed in the work.
Conclusions. The state of dispensing medicines by electronic prescriptions has been analyzed through the original instrument – The Questionnaire for Pharmacists. It was established that difficulties in dispensing medicines by e-prescriptions arise regardless of a pharmacy's location. About 80% of e-prescriptions issued by pharmaceutical professionals require up to 5 minutes per 1 e-prescription, regardless of age and professional experience. The problems with issuing e-prescriptions occur in 10-20% of cases, regardless of professional experience. Thus, it is usually impossible to dispense from 10% to 20% of medicines by electronic prescriptions whether specific technical difficulties with dispensing e-prescriptions from pharmacies are present or absent.
