The aim of the work. The analysis of the physical accessibility of the population of the Vinnytsia region to pharmaceutical aid according to the level of concentration of economic entities that have a license for retail trade in medicines and medical products and are permanently operating.
Materials and Methods. The methods of scientific generalization, statistical, retrospective analysis and grouping pharmacies based on their physical location in the Vinnytsia region has been used to analyze the population's access to pharmaceutical aid. Tha analysis has been based on data from reports on the results of the State Service of Ukraine for Medicines and Drug Control in 2017-2022, data from the License Register for Production of medicines (in the pharmacy conditions), wholesale and retail trade of medicines as of May 1, 2023, statistical data on the population of the Vinnytsia region.
Results and Discussion. It was established that as of May 2023, there are 312 business entities registered in the territory of Vinnytsia region that have a license for the retail trade of medicines and medical products in 878 places of activity. 685 pharmacies are permanently operating. 66% of pharmacies are concentrated in cities, 19% and 15% in urban-type settlements and villages, respectively. Only 3 pharmacies in the region have a license, which allows the compounding of medicines in pharmacies.
Conclusions. The absolute majority of pharmacies in the Vinnytsia region are located in cities. Almost 30% of the total number of permanently functioning pharmacies located in the region is concentrated in the regional center. There is a significant differentiation in terms of availability of pharmacies between administrative and territorial units – residents of only 5% of villages have physical access to pharmaceutical care in their settlements. The majority among the organizational and legal forms of business that carry out the retail sale of medicinal products in the Vinnytsia region are limited liability companies and individual entrepreneurs with the maximum number of places of activity 6 and 70, respectively.
