The aim of the work. To investigate the quality of pharmaceutical care to the population of Odessa region before and after the administrative-territorial reform from the point of view of physical accessibility.
Materials and Methods. Data from the Register of Places of Activity for Wholesale and Retail Trade of Medicines on April 30, 2020 and April 30, 2021 was the material for research. Methods of mathematical statistics and scientific generalization were used.
Results and Discussion. It was found that before the administrative-territorial reform (on April 30, 2020) pharmaceutical assistance in the Odessa region was provided only in 14.5% of settlements through 1174 pharmacies. At the same time, 82.0% of pharmacies out of their total number were located in administrative centers, incl. 53.6% - in Odessa. It should be indicated that only 18.0% of pharmacies functioned in small and remote settlements. After the administrative-territorial reform, pharmaceutical assistance (on April 30, 2021) in the Odessa region was provided by 1,515 pharmacies located in 15.6% of settlements. There were 89.9% of pharmacies in the administrative centers, including the centers of the united territorial communities. In particular, there were 54.3% of pharmacies in the Odessa united territorial community (the city of Odessa). 84.4% of settlements were not involved in pharmaceutical care.
Conclusions. It was shown that the provision of pharmaceutical care in the Odessa region after the administrative-territorial reform has slightly improved, because the number of settlements where it was provided through pharmacies increased from 14.5 to 15.6%. In its turn, the number of pharmacies increased from 1484 to 1515, i.e. by almost 2.1% in the administrative centers, including the centers of the united territorial communities. However, pharmaceutical assistance was available only to residents of 15.6% of small and remote settlements, in contrast to 18.0% before the administrative-territorial reform.
