The aim of the study. To carry out research on the development of an emulgel with a dry extract of Scutellaria baicalensis, select the optimal gelling agent, emulsifier and oil content. To study the rheological indicators.
Materials and Methods. The structural-mechanical (rheological) properties of gel bases and samples were studied using a Rheotest-2 rotational viscometer (Germany) with coaxial cylinders. The selection of the oil phase content was carried out using the method of optical microscopy. The degree of dispersion and determination of the linear particle sizes of the emulgel was carried out using a Conus Academy electron microscope with an integrated camera. To study the rheoparameters, mechanical stability indices were calculated.
Results and Discussion. As a result of the studies, a rational gelling agent (carbopol Ultrez 10 NF) and the concentration of the Prolipid 141TM emulsifier were selected, the oil phase content was determined, and a study of rheological properties and mechanical stability have been carried out.
Conclusions. Ultrez 10 NF (1.5%) as a gelling agent, corn oil (20 %) as an oil phase, Prolipid 141TM (3%) as an emulsifier were chosen. It has been proved that the resulting emulgel is a structured system with a plastic type of flow.
