Abstract

The aim of the work – substantiation of the importance of introducing modern innovative pedagogical technologies, problem-oriented training, use of world experience as components of the reform of higher medical education in order to achieve a high level of professional competence of doctors and pharmacists.

The main body. The basic principles of ensuring the quality of medical education in Ukraine are highlighted, it is emphasized on the need to develop common criteria, common educational standards and methodologies for ensuring the quality of doctors training, which is a necessary condition for recognition of their qualifications in speciality and in the world, the possibilities of convergence of training systems, mutual recognition of educational levels, and positioning the doctor according to his competence and professional skills.

Conclusion. The introduction of modern approaches to higher medical education is an urgent requirement of time, will promote the convergence of Ukrainian higher medical education to European and American educational systems, respond to the needs of the reformed healthcare sector and ultimately contribute to improving the quality of medical care for the population.
