USE OF INTERDISCIPLINARY CONNECTIONS IN THE PROCESS OF TEACHING THE ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES “LATIN LANGUAGE” AND “UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE FOR PROFESSIONAL PURPOSES”

Abstract. The article considers the possibilities and prospects of using interdisciplinary connections when studying the academic disciplines “Latin Language” and “Ukrainian Language for Professional Purposes”. The important role of the interdisciplinary approach as one of the foundations of a comprehensive educational paradigm is noted. Attention is focused on the need to form and develop professional language competence as the basis for holistic, fundamental training of specialists in any field, including medical. The level of proficiency in a professional language determines the effectiveness of mastering specialized disciplines, the formation of the necessary scientific worldview, the ability to successful professional communication, the prospects for professional growth, and therefore, competitiveness. In this regard, the issue of improving methods and forms of language training is relevant. It is noted that the definition, coordination and practical consolidation of associative language connections contribute to the awareness of the integrity and internal logic of the professional language system, understanding the interconnectedness of its elements, creates conditions for more active memorization and further operation of the learned material. At the same time, the need to apply the already acquired general language knowledge and skills in working with the new language layer of professional vocabulary is emphasized. Based on the results of observations and conversations with students, difficulties and problems in the study of Latin and Ukrainian languages are analyzed, their causes are determined. A characteristic of the interdisciplinary connections of Latin and Ukrainian is given, their unity as components of professional language is emphasized. As an example of the use of interdisciplinary connections, the study of the topic “Uncoordinated attribute” (Latin) and “Declension of nouns of the masculine gender” (Ukrainian) is considered, and the systematization of terminological groups according to this morphological feature is proposed. Promising ways of using interdisciplinary connections between Latin and Ukrainian languages are outlined.
