The article deals with the role of interdisciplinary integration as a necessary component of the educational process in the system of medical education; it allows to supplement the content of one discipline with knowledge from another and substantiates the possibility of comprehensive solution of tasks of medical practice using the method of wide integration of information acquired during the study of various disciplines. Long experience in teaching the subject “Latin and Medical Terminology” shows the presence of close integration links with other disciplines, e.g. Human Anatomy, Pharmacology, Biology, etc., as well as in the context of the importance of Latin for the formation of terminological competence of future doctors in all disciplines, which senior students study. Modern anatomical terminology consists mainly of Latin terms, therefore the formation of the correct reading skills of anatomical terms in the Latin language classes and mastering the basis of Latin grammar, vocabulary, Greek and Latin word-building elements contribute to develop skills of competent application of anatomical nomenclature and allow students to use the acquired theoretical knowledge in anatomy classes. The purpose of studying the “Pharmaceutical Terminology” section in the Latin Language course is to teach students to write prescriptions correctly for various forms of drugs, to promote the conscious mastering and usage of pharmaceutical terms and thus, to form a terminological basis for studying the “Pharmacology” subject. Students learn to formulate simple medical diagnoses, understand general expressions that describe the properties of the disease and ways to treat it during clinical terminology studying.
