ESTABLISHMENT AND ORGANIZATION OF ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SURGICAL DENTISTRY BEFORE ITS 15TH ANNIVERSARY

Abstract

Abstract. The establishment of the Department of Surgical Dentistry in Ternopil city has a bright history, but is insufficiently covered in publications. The aim of the article was to highlight the main aspects of the formation, organization and activities of the Department of Surgical Dentistry of I. Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University Ministry of Health of Ukraine, for effective acquisition of theoretical knowledge, practical skills and treatment and consulting from the moment of foundation to the present. This article describes the main aspects of the formation of the Department of Surgical Dentistry and the organization of the educational process using modern technical means, development of educational programs by teachers, introduction of elective courses, introduction of modern methods of treatment of injuries and inflammatory processes of the maxillofacial area. The purpose of training is to educate qualified dentists who will provide professional care to patients. Thus, the problem of the qualities of future dentists is relevant and important both for the theory of professional pedagogy and for practical training. An important task of teachers is to focus on the formation of communicative qualities in the training process, the so-called soft skills skills that are most important for future dentists: in particular, the flexibility of communication, perception of man as a person. The Department of Surgical Dentistry is developing rapidly, which contributes to improving the quality of education, training of competitive specialists in the field of dentistry. It will be relevant and promising to improve the teaching at the Department of Surgical Dentistry, which would meet international standards with the recognition of Ukrainian diplomas abroad.
