SUMMARY. The paper high lights the current understanding of varicella-zoster virus infection as maternal-fetal based on an analysis of the literature and presented clinical case. Established likely illness child infected in utero, against chickenpox disease mother in the third trimester pregnancy.Key words: varicella-zoster viral infection, pregnancy, fetus, newborn.
