THE HISTORY OF THE FIGHT AGAINST CHOLERA IN DESKTOP MEDALS

SUMMARY. Brief historical information about the achievements in the study of cholera and the role of individual scientists in the study of its etiology, epidemiology, clinical and pathogenetic features and the development of therapeutic and anti-epidemic measures are given. Eighteen desktop medals are researched and described, illustrating particular events in the past fight against cholera or made in honor of outstanding scientists who made a significant contribution into the solution of this problem. Medals are introduced into the scientific medical circulation.
