Abstract

A case report of reccurence Plasmodium vivax malaria in 17-year-old patient, a citizen of India, who was hospitalized in surgical department of Ternopil Regional Children’s Hospital due to fever and severe abdominal pain was presented in the article. A case of malaria was in the history of life 2 years ago. The peculiarity of the presented case is the dominance of fever without characteristic cyclicity and pronounced abdominal pain in the debut of the disease, which led to the delay of the diagnosis. Splenomegaly and anemia were observed during the second week of illness. The doctors’ awareness about malaria in patients with fever who came from countries endemic to malaria should be raised.
