Анотація

До 2003 р. у світі було відомо лише про два людські коронавіруси (HCoV), які спричиняли ураження дихальної системи легкого ступеня. Пізніше спалахи тяжкого гострого респіраторного синдрому (SARS), близькосхідного респіраторного синдрому (MERS) та COVID-19 прикули увагу всього світу до емерджентних коронавірусних інфекцій та еволюцію їх збудників. Ситуація з COVID-19 показала, наскільки руйнівною та небезпечною для життя може бути інфекція, зумовлена коронавірусами. Наведені сучасні дані про коронавіруси, які здатні уражати людей. Зазначено особ­ливості будови та класифікації коронавірусів, проаналізовано їх еволюційний шлях.
