Abstract

The aim of the study – to evaluate the results of the first experience of mini-laparoscopic cholecystectomy (MLC) in acute calculous cholecystitis.

Materials and Methods. The 32-year-old woman underwent MLC for acute calculous catarrhal cholecystitis. The operation was performed using 4 trocars: I 10-mm trocar was inserted in the umbilical area (for optics and bladder extraction), II 5-mm trocar was inserted in the subxiphoid area (for working instruments, including reusable 5 mm clip-applier), III and IV 3-mm trocars were introduced in the right hypochondrium (for mini-graspers).

Results and Discussion. There were no significant technical difficulties while performing the procedure. There were no complications, and the patient was discharged by the end of the day 2 postoperatively. The patient noted less pain compared traditional laparoscopic cholestectomeis (TLC) and evaluated the cosmetic effect of the procedure as excellent.
