Abstract

Hamate fracture accounts for only 2 % of all carpal bone fractures and requires specific approach and additional examinations to establish accurate diagnosis. The article describes a rare case of hamate bone fracture diagnosed 2,5 months after trauma. Consolidation of the fracture and recovery of the wrist function was achieved by open reduction and internal fixation with Herbert screw and early postoperative rehabilitation.
