Abstract

The aim of the work: to analyze the possibilities of using the developed rope crossing and ship stretchers for wounded, injured and sick persons evacuating across water barriers.

Materials and Methods. We proposed the use of ship’s stretchers on which the device for artificial lungs ventilation was fixed. Transportation of the wounded, traumatized and sick persons was carried out using the proposed rope crossing. The original construction of the rope crossing and the ship’s stretcher were used to evacuate the wounded, injured and sick persons through water barriers. The evacuation process consisted of 3 directions: organizational, medical and technical.

Results and Discussion. Depending on the training and coordination of work, the crossing time is from 40 sec to 5 min, this average indicator is equal to (90±30) sec. When crossing the stable wounded, injured and sick people who do not need additional medical support, the average evacuation time equals to (60±10) sec. Upon arrival of a wounded, injured or sick person who needs medical assistance, the transportation time is (4.0±0.5) min. The use of the original construction of the crossing allows to reduce the evacuation time by an average of (2.0±0.1) hrs. Throughput capacity is 12 wounded, injured and sick persons per hour and 280 per day. In this way, 2 crossings were organized. It is important that a similar construction of a crossing with the help of ship’s stretchers was assembled and organized firstly in Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. The proposed construction of the rope crossing and the use of ship’s stretchers for wounded, traumatized and sick persons evacuating across water barriers were applied to the crossing of heavy and moderate patients. The use of the proposed cable crossing design and ship stretchers for wounded, injured and sick persons evacuating across water barriers leads to a reduction in evacuation time and improves the quality of medical care.
