Abstract

The aim of the work: to establish the peculiarities of morphological changes of internal organs in metabolic syndrome on the background of peritonitis in the experiment.

Materials and Methods. The study was conducted on 16 sexually mature non-linear white male rats. Acute widespread peritonitis was modeled by injecting 10 % filtered fecal suspension into the abdominal cavity at a dose of 0.5 ml per 100 g of animal weight according to V. A. Lazarenko. and co-authors (2008). Male rats of the control group were fed a normal diet. Base group male rats (n=8) were fed a high-fat diet (over 60 % of energy from fat) for 16 weeks. Histological sections were prepared on an Amos AMR-400 rotary microtome with a thickness of 3-5 μm (at least two sections for each histological slide), stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Research and photo-registration of the preparations was carried out using an Eclipse Ci-E microscope (Japan) with a Sigeta M3CMOS 14000 digital camera at various magnifications x100, x200, x400.

Results and Discussion. In animals with metabolic syndrome, after simulating peritonitis in the early periods, pronounced (progressive and increasing) structural changes in the myocardium and lungs were visualized, which are manifested by dystrophic, dystrophic-necrotic changes, inflammatory infiltration of the stroma, and acute progressive circulatory disorders in comparison with animals without metabolic syndrome. In our studies, the kidneys of animals with structural manifestations similar to those of animals without metabolic syndrome turned out to be less vulnerable.
