Amyand’s hernia is an accidental intraoperative finding of inguinal hernias. When the appendix enters the hernia bag, its blood supply deteriorates, inflammation and reproduction of microorganisms occur, which can lead to destruction of the wall. Appendectomy is necessary because manipulation of the appendix can cause secondary appendicitis. Regarding the use of a mesh graft during hernioplasty, it is advisable to take into account the presence of infection of the hernia sac wall and contamination of the operating field, as well as individual physiological and anatomical features.
