Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • • the manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication in another journal;
    • the manuscript fully complies with the Guidelines for conducting, reporting, editing and publishing scientific work in medical journals and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practices in Scientific Publication (COPE, DOAJ, WAME and OASPA);
    • the manuscript is submitted in Microsoft Word document file format (*.docx);
    • references have been formatted according to the Journal's requirements, which can be accessed in the Manuscript Requirements section. Reference URLs have been provided where available;
    • manuscript text 1.5 intervals; 12-point font Times New Roman; without using italics and underlining (except for URLs); all illustrations, figures and tables are placed in the text in the appropriate points, and not at the end of the document;
    • in the manuscript, strictly follow the stylistic and bibliographic requirements set forth in the "Guide for Authors";
    • the author signs, scans (in PDF format) a statement in which he/she declares that the proposed article is original and has not been previously published or submitted for publication in another journal;
    • all authors sign their agreement in writing with the final version of the submitted manuscript. Authorship is based on ICMJE guidelines.

Author Guidelines

ATTENTION TO AUTHORS!

During preparation of materials to the journal, please adhere to such requirements:

1. The article must be accompanied with the relation of institution where it is written, with recommendation for printing, with the conclusion of expert commission, and the signature of scientific supervisor or head of the institution that is notarized by printing. Under the text it is necessarily required the signatures of all authors and scientific supervisor with indicating that this work was not submitted for publication in other publishers. It is necessary to specify first name, surname, title, academic degree or title of each author, address (e-mail of each author), phone and fax of the author, which can conduct correspondence and negotiations.

2. The article should be printed on one side of a sheet of A4, 1.5 interval; margin: left, top and bottom – 2 cm, right – 1 cm(28–30 lines per page). The amount of original, experimental articles, look at the issue, articles from experience, including tables, figures, references, summary and key words should not exceed 10–12 pages, the amount of literature review – up to 12–15 pages, short messages and reviews – 3–5 pages. Article should be  sent in 2 copies. Languages of articles - Ukrainian and English.

3. The electronic version of the article (in formats doc, docx, rtf) should be registered in the system OJS to log web page (website http: // ojs.tdmu.edu.ua /).

4. Article should be written as follows:

a) UDC;

b) the name and initials of the authors in Ukrainian, English;

c) the name of the institution from which the work comes in Ukrainian, English;

d) title, without the use of abbreviations (except generally accepted) in Ukrainian, English;

e) three structured summaries in volume of 250-300 words each (1800-2100 characters with spaces) in Ukrainian, English, which should include the following elements: the aim of the work, materials and methods, results and discussion;

f) key words (from 3 to 8 words) in Ukrainian, English;

g) each article (original, experimental studies, from the experience of work, look at the problem) must be structured as follows:

- problem definition and analysis of recent research and publicationsproblem definition and its relationship with important scientific and practical tasks; analysis of recent research and publications for solution of this problem on which the author refers to; allocation of unsolved earlier parts of the problem, which the article is devoted to;

- The aim of the work (determination of problem);

- Materials and Methods – the principle of selection and quantitative characterization of material for research and the distribution of objects on  groups; description of applied methods of experimental, pathomorphological, clinical research and methods of statistical analysis;

- Results and Discussion – the main material studies with full justification of scientific results;

- Conclusions – should be given in form of numbered items arising from the results of the studies and solve the purpose of the work;

- Prospects of further studies are given if needed, in the last paragraph of the article in a size up to three sentences.

Each of these sections should be highlighted.

5. All illustrations (tables, charts, graphs, photographs) should be described and interpreted in the text of the article. The graphical material (pictures) is filed in separate files. File format for pictures and other illustrations – jpg, tif. For formulas desirable to use an equation editor Microsoft Equation. Illustrations and photographs are performed separately. Each picture on the backside should be specified by its number, names of authors and marks "Top", "Bottom" using pencil. In signatures of micrographs indicate the enlarge (eyepiece lens) and the method of coloring of the material. Photos should be contrast, figures – clear. Photomicrographs sent only in paper form editorship does not accept. Tables and figures should have their own signature and numbering addition, reference should be made to them in brackets in the text. The information contained in tables and figures should not be duplicated.

6. All designations of measures (units of various sizes, digital data of clinical and laboratory research) should be submitted according to the International System of Units (SI) according to the requirements of standards GOST 3651-97 "physical units" definitions – based on International Classification of Diseases. The names of companies, reagents and apparatus should be given in the original transcription.

7. Inthe description of experimental studies indicate species, sex, number of animals, methods of anesthesia during manipulations associated with the causing pain for the animals, the method of killing them or taking them material for laboratory tests in accordance with the rules of humane treatment of animals.

8. Inthe text using reference to the publication should indicate its number according to the list of literature in square brackets.

9. Bibliography should contain references of the last 10 years. In the original, experimental, articles from the experience not more than 10  sources, surveys – up to 30.

10. It is necessary to send two versions of the references – traditional and complementary to foreign databases (references). The first variant is to arrange the usual way, in accordance with GOST 7.1: 2006 – as in the thesis (http://psychling.phdpu.edu.ua/images/recenzent/Oform%20bibl%20opusy%20Form%20N23.pdf). The second variant should be arranged according to the APA standard – American Psychological Association (http://csnukr.in.ua/articles/A%20English%202010.07.27.pdf). It is fully reflects the first one but transliterated in Latin. In the list in Latin it is necessary to indicate all authors of the literature source (DSTU GOST 7.1:2006 doesn’t require it). The title of the source (journal, book, conference) should be always italicized.

 

Requirements for additional list of references

1. Structure citation in Cyrillic source:

• author(s) and initials of the author(s) (transliteration)

• year of publication in parentheses ();

• transliterated name of publication, title in English in square brackets [];

• transliterated name of the source (journal, conference) title in English;

• raw data (place of publication, pages) in English.

2. Algorithm of references unit processing:

2.1. If research work is written in a language that uses the Cyrillic alphabet, its bibliographic description should be transliterated in Latin letters. After the work's title in Latin letters indicate its English translation in brackets.

2.2. Transliterate Cyrillic descriptions source system using automatic transliteration:

2.3. Edit References according to APA standards:

- take off special marks in transliterated description ("//", "/", "-");

- after transliteration, specify the name of article  in English in square brackets and after transliteration of name of sourse put dash and specify the name in English;

- fix pages marking (instead of 12 s. to 12 p.);

- add in the end [in Ukrainian];

- if it is a book, indicate the full place of publication in English (eg, Kyiv), transliterate the name of publishing house.

After entering metadata in the form of the proposed system will generate a regular references for your bibliography, which is necessary to copy and paste in your article.

 

IMPORTANT: a description of the elements can only use straight quotes (") and it is forbidden to replace Latin letters on Cyrillic.

Thesis, dissertation thesis

Translate thesis title. Be sure to specify a PhD dissertation, Extended abstract of PhD dissertation, Master's thesis. Inquire or correct official translation of the names of institutions or transliteration of names.

IMPORTANT: It is better to refer to the full text of the thesis, not the abstract.

11. Editors correct terminological, stylistic, spelling, punctuation mistakes; remove odd illustrations; streamline the text if necessary.

12. Articles, prepared without observance of these rules are not registered. First of all we publish articles of subscribers and materials, ordered by editors.

13. The author is solely responsible for the accuracy of data presented in the article and the references.

14. Publication of articles is fee-based. Payment is made after reviewing the article.
