Retraction Policy For Published Articles

  1. General Provisions

1.1. This Policy defines the procedure for the retraction of scientific articles published in the journal.
1.2. Retraction is applied in cases where significant violations of research ethics or errors affecting the reliability of the study results are identified.
1.3. The journal’s policy is based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  1. Grounds for Retraction

Retraction may be initiated in the following cases:

  • detection of plagiarism or self-plagiarism;
  • fabrication or falsification of data;
  • significant methodological errors rendering the results unreliable;
  • duplicate publication;
  • copyright infringement;
  • ethical violations (lack of informed consent, absence of approval from bioethics committees, etc.);
  • identification of unethical authorship practices (ghostwriting, gift authorship).
  1. Initiation of the Procedure

3.1. Retraction may be initiated by:

  • the author(s) of the article;
  • the editorial board;
  • reviewers;
  • third parties (readers, institutions).

3.2. A statement regarding a potential violation must be submitted to the editorial office in written form (via email or through the OJS system).

  1. Case Review

4.1. The editorial office conducts a preliminary assessment involving responsible editors.
4.2. If necessary, additional expert evaluation or re-review is conducted.
4.3. The author(s) are обязательно informed and given the opportunity to provide explanations.
4.4. The final decision is made by the editorial board by majority vote.

  1. Decision-Making

Possible decisions include:

  • rejection of the retraction request;
  • publication of a correction (corrigendum / erratum);
  • full retraction of the article.
  1. Retraction Implementation

6.1. In the case of retraction:

  • a separate retraction notice is published;
  • the reason and initiator are clearly indicated;
  • linkage to the original article is maintained (via DOI).

6.2. The original article:

  • is not removed from the journal’s website;
  • is clearly marked as “Retracted”;
  • is accompanied by the relevant notice.
  1. Implementation in OJS

In the Open Journal Systems (OJS), retraction is implemented as follows:

  • creation of a separate item of the type “Retraction notice”;
  • editing article metadata (adding “Retracted” status);
  • replacing the PDF file with a version containing a “Retracted” watermark;
  • linking the retraction notice to the original article via DOI;
  • updating indexing metadata (Crossref, Google Scholar, etc.).
  1. Indexing and Notification

8.1. The editorial office notifies relevant databases and indexing systems about the retraction.
8.2. Information about the retraction is open and publicly available on the journal’s website.

  1. Timeframe

The review of a retraction request should not exceed 30–60 calendar days.

  1. Final Provisions

10.1. The editorial office ensures transparency and objectivity of the retraction process.
10.2. All decisions are documented and archived by the journal.
