ASSORTMENT RESEARCH OF SLEEPING AND SEDATIVE MEDICINES CONTAINING COMPONENTS OF PLANT ORIGIN IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The aim of the work. The assortment analysis of sleeping and sedative medicines containing components of plant origin in Ukraine for determination the prospects and feasibility of developing new effective domestic drugs.

Materials and Methods. The objects of the study were sleeping and sedative medicines containing components of plant origin according to the Compendium and the State Register of Medicines of Ukraine. A marketing study of sleeping and sedative medicines containing components of plant origin was conducted using statistical, marketing and graphic analysis methods.

Results and Discussion. The assortment research of sleeping and sedative medicines consisting of components of plant origin was conducted according to anatomical-therapeutic-chemical classification, country and manufacturing company, composition and type of dosage form, the macrocontour of the studied segment of the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market is formed. It was established that on January 01, 2023 57 trade names were registered on the market of Ukraine, they belong to the group N05CM “Sleeping and sedative drugs”, it was determined that 73.7 % of the assortment is domestic, and 26.3 % of foreign production. The most common dosage form is capsules (26.3 %), coated tablets (24.5 %) and tinctures (12.3 %). It was determined that combined preparations of natural origin dominate the assortment of drugs – 55.4 %, 68.4 % of preparations contain valerian rhizomes with roots in the form of tinctures, dry, thick or liquid extracts.

Conclusions. The necessity to search and develop new medicines with promising types of medicinal plants with sleeping and sedative effects has been proven.
