The aim of the work. To develop technology and identify critical points in the manufacture of combined gel “Biosedum plus” for the treatment of radiation damage to the skin.
Materials and Methods. The objects of the study were samples of combined gel based on stonecrop juice, fatty oils of sea-buckthorn, dog-rose, St. John's wort and quercetin, made using different technological parameters. To stabilize the base of the combined gel and the introduction of fatty oils, complex emulsifier Lanette SX and the antioxidant butyloxyanisole were used. Glycerin was used to obtain a suspension of quercetin and solubilization of cinnamon and lemon essential oil (gel flavours). The research was conducted according to the methods of the State Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine.
Results and Discussion. The technology of the combined gel under the conditional name “Biosedum plus” for prevention and treatment of radiation injuries of skin on the basis of juice of a stonecrop, fatty oils of a sea-buckthorn, a dog-rose, St. John's wort (2:1:1), and also quercetin is developed and critical points of its technology were defined.
The technological mode of obtaining a gel base (swelling process should take place at a temperature not exceeding 60 ° C with stirring at 250 rpm) was confirmed by microscopic method. The influence of the duration of homogenization on the degree of dispersion was established by mixing the samples at the selected speed – 2000 rpm for 10, 20, 30, 40, 60 minutes. The composition of oils and butyloxyanisole was introduced into the base in the form of an emulsion, and quercetin – a fine suspension when dispersed with glycerol, followed by dilution with the juice of stonecrop.
Conclusions. The technological process was substantiated and the technology of the combined gel under the conditional name “Biosedum plus” was developed. It consisted of stages of receiving a gel basis, receiving emulsion, obtaining a suspension, making a combined gel, packing the gel in polymer containers, packing in packs, packing packs in boxes. Technological and critical parameters of combined gel production are determined.
