CASE TECHNOLOGY AS AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO TEACHING ORGANIZATIONAL AND ECONOMIC DISCIPLINES FOR PHARMACY SPECIALISTS

The aim of the work: to study case technology as an innovative approach in teaching disciplines of organizational and economic direction (organization and economy of pharmacy, pharmaceutical management and marketing, pharmacoeconomics, social pharmacy, fundamentals of economy, fundamentals of insurance medicine) at the Department of Pharmaceutical Management, Drug Technology and Pharmacognosy, to develop a case study in the discipline “Organization and Economy of Pharmacy”.
Materials and Methods. The research materials were scientific articles describing the use of case technologies in higher education institutions. The scientific understanding of the use of case technology in teaching economics organization disciplines at IFNMU requires applying a set of research methods. The descriptive method makes it possible to convey the specifics of the studied teaching method. General scientific methods, such as analysis and synthesis, are used to summarize and comprehend the relevant experience.
Results and Discussion. The article presents the theoretical justification for using case technology in practical classes in the discipline “Organization and Economy of Pharmacy” at the Department of Pharmaceutical Management, Drug Technology and Pharmacognosy of the IFNMU. The essence of case technology is defined, which consists in the study of specific cases (situations, narratives and case texts) from life and professional activities for joint analysis, discussion, and decision-making. The advantages of using case studies in practical classes in the discipline “Organization and Economy of Pharmacy” are analyzed, and the structural elements of case studies are considered. The main stages of implementating case technology are highlighted, and cases of using case technology in practical classes are given.
Conclusions. It is demonstrated that the case technology can be used to polish up practical skills, conduct a dialogue and discussion on the case, as well as problematize the material to increase interest in the studying economics organization disciplines, in particular, “Organization and Economy of Pharmacy”.
