Abstract

The aim of the study – to analyze the differences in training and practice of nurses in Ukraine and abroad, suggest the ways of improving the quality of training of nurses.

Materials and Methods. The object of the study is training of future nurses in Ukraine and abroad. The study used methods of theoretical analysis.

Results and Discussion: In Ukraine the functions of a nurse are limited by implementation of doctor's prescriptions. In medical institutions in Europe and in the US nurses are working on the principles of nursing process, which includes their independence. The level of theoretical and practical training of future nurses abroad is much higher because they are endowed with wider powers and perform complex manipulations. Therefore there is a need to improve the quality and strengthen the role of nurses in Ukraine, according to international standards.

Conclusion. The modern training model assumes that a nurse – a specialist in professional education have a right on independent exercise of her functions and implement nursing process, because in our country the basic approaches to training and practice of nurses should be altered in accordance with international standards.
