Abstract

Abstract. The article highlights methodological approaches and modern solutions to the main challenges faced by educators in training 6th-year medical students during the teaching of the selective course «Topical Issues of Andrology». The main factors affecting the effectiveness of acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills in andrology – crucial for future general practitioners, urologists, endocrinologists, and other clinical specialists – are analyzed. The research is based on the analysis of educational and methodological materials, open-access sources, and the authors’ own teaching experience. The article presents modern teaching technologies, simulation-based and interactive learning methods, as well as approaches to student assessment introduced at the Department of Surgery № 1 with Urology and Minimally Invasive Surgery of Ivan Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The aim of teaching the discipline «Topical Issues of Andrology» is to form a system of knowledge and skills that enables future physicians to adequately perform diagnostics, counselling, and initial management of patients with andrological conditions in accordance with modern clinical standards. The proposed methodological approach facilitates the effective organization of the educational process and positively influences students’ overall mastery of the course.
