Abstract

Abstract. The article justifies the need to improve the educational process by expanding practice-oriented tasks, introducing training on responding to biological and environmental threats, using simulation technologies, and developing inter-sectoral cooperation in education. This will ensure not only the compliance of master’s degree programs with modern challenges in the field of public health, but also increase their readiness to work in conditions of global and local crises. The purpose of the article is to study the role of the principles of occupational health, bioethics, biosafety, and sustainable development goals in the formation of professional competencies of students of the educational and professional program “Public Health”. The work uses a comprehensive methodological approach, which includes the analysis of scientific sources, regulatory and legal documents, as well as the results of a survey among 25 students and 10 graduates of the program. The study showed that the modern system of training in the field of public health ensures the development of key program learning outcomes stipulated by the higher education standard, in particular: the ability to assess demographic and epidemiological indicators, analyze social and environmental determinants of health, plan and implement preventive measures, conduct scientific research and communicate results. The results of the survey confirmed that the majority of students are aware of the importance of bioethics and biosafety as components of professional training, but indicate an insufficient level of the practical component in this area. Graduates, for their part, confirm that they actively apply the acquired knowledge and skills in occupational safety and sustainable development in their professional activities, especially in the field of risk assessment, emergency management and scientific and analytical work. It was concluded that the integration of the principles of sustainable development and a safe scientific environment into the educational process contributes to the formation of professionally competent, ethically responsible and socially active specialists who are able to act effectively in modern conditions.
