Abstract

In the article, social maturity is presented as a fundamental component of professional development that determines the integrative qualities of a specialist filled with social knowledge, experience and culture, characterizing him/her as socially responsible, mobile, significant, capable of making sound professional decisions in solving professional problems, determining the ability and willingness to take conscious responsibility for the results of one's professional decisions. The need for the formation of social maturity as a factor in the professional growth of education recipients is determined by several factors: professional requirements, ethical standards, the effectiveness of professional activities and self-improvement. It has been outlined that the social maturity of education seekers consists of several key components that play an important role in professional development and becoming a professionally competent specialist. The basis of social maturity as a factor of professional growth of the individual is highlighted, such as social knowledge, social experience, social culture, social mobility, social responsibility, emotional intelligence. It has been proven that social maturity is an important component of the professionalism of education recipients, because it plays an important role in the formation of professional competence, which is manifested in their ability to: effectively interact with teachers and classmates; build strong relationships with employers and colleagues; resolve conflicts; adapt to changes; to be responsible for one's professional duties.
