Abstract. The experience of implementing a cultural approach in teaching Latin to future medical specialists is considered in this paper. It is emphasized that the study of the Latin language is an integral part of higher medical and pharmaceutical education. The general educational value of the Latin language is substantiated. It is emphasized that the effective professional training of a specialist takes place within the framework of the pedagogical process, which realizes the goals of education and upbringing. The expediency of studying Latin maxims, which develop the intellectual level of a person, his worldview, and culture, has been proven. It is emphasized that according to the program of the course “Latin language and basics of medical terminologyˮ, students master 100 Latin aphorisms. They contain grammatical constructions that correspond to the topic of the practical lesson. It was revealed that Latin aphorisms promote a healthy lifestyle and condemn habits that have a harmful effect on human health. Students study Latin maxims on patriotic topics, mottos, inscriptions on religious buildings, etc. It is emphasized that Latin aphorisms are still widely used today in scientific works, artistic works and oral language.
