WRITING A DISEASE HISTORY AS AN IMPORTANT COMPONENT OF THE FORMATION OF SPECIAL PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES OF THE DENTAL FACULTY STUDENTS

Abstract. This article highlights the aspects of competencies formation in students at the medical university of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. In modern conditions, in response to the reforms in the field of medicine, a competency-based approach has been implemented in higher education institutions, ensuring the training of highly qualified specialists. Competency training is essential for general education, personal and professional development of an educated person. Through acquired competencies, a young specialist has an opportunity to enhance the level of professional culture and to solve various tasks: define goals, assess the situation, choose appropriate strategies, be ready for social integration and successfully engage in a certain type of professional activity. Writing a medical history was chosen as a demonstration of mastery of special professional competencies by students at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
