Abstract. The purpose of the conducted research is to monitor approaches to continuous professional development of dentists for the formation and improvement of professional competence skills, based on the priority of forms and formats of implementation. 2216 respondents of various age groups participated in the study, filling out a questionnaire during scientific and practical events and conferences of professional schools for dentists in online mode in March 2023. Respondents were dentists of all specialties, representatives of various regions of Ukraine. The survey of dentists and the analysis of the research results were conducted under the guidance of the developers of the questionnaire-questionnaire of the NGO “Ukrainian Dental Association”, which included both socio-demographic questions and questions on the definition and objectification of forms, formats, ways of implementing continuous professional development and vision approaches to acquiring new scientific knowledge and skills; group of companies “MedExpert” and the Ukrainian rating agency. The most optimal form of implementation of the system of continuous professional development of dentists in Ukraine in modern conditions is the remote form of professional seminars in real time. Most dentists attend lectures, seminars and scientific and practical events in order to improve their own professional knowledge. Subjects of professional seminars at the request of the dental community include the range of interests of endodontics, modern restorative materials, periodontology, interdisciplinary integration, diseases of the oral mucosa, pathology of the temporomandibular joint and preventive dentistry. When teaching professional material, it is advisable to focus on the saturation of lecturer presentations with clinical cases, treatment schemes, and diagnostic algorithms. When familiarizing with scientific periodicals, most doctors prefer to study scientific publications on journal websites. The forms and formats of the implementation of the system of continuous professional development, which are priority for dentists of Ukraine, provide for effective educational-scientific-practical activities on current topics with appropriate evidentiary content for the clinical practice of dentists.
