Abstract

Abstract. An important stage of modern science will be the transition to the establishment of regularities. This keyword is especially important for the humanities, where descriptiveness is the main threat. It should be noted that this is also an important primary element of scientific research. Meanwhile, it is difficult to reach the level of generalizations that is important for theory and practice without searching for causes and prognostic assessment. It is the lack of attention to regularities as the basis of the educational process that has caused a skeptical attitude to higher school pedagogy over the centuries. It is believed that a good specialist can teach basing on professional knowledge, intuition, and practical experience. This false statement sometimes comes true, whereas sometimes does not. The problem is exacerbated in modern conditions. A new generation of students with a sufficient level of information culture, high needs, and knowledge of foreign languages is entering university classrooms. It should be mentioned that the needs of practice precede the possibilities of theoretical concepts. Perhaps this is one of the reasons for constant statements about a crisis in science. In our opinion, this is a crisis of growth, transition to a qualitatively new level of teaching and learning. The emergence of simulation training centers in medical universities as a fundamentally new didactic tool confirms the need to further search for updated principles of teaching and learning. The prognostic assessment of the experts of the Club of Rome about “integral thinking” once again confirms the urgency of the problem.
