Abstract

Abstract. In wartime conditions, groups of displaced persons appeared who suffered psychologically and emotionally and need empathy and the need to overcome barriers in communication with the patient. The war made adjustments to the issue of communication between the pediatrician and the child’s environment. The number of orphans has increased, and often the child is not always accompanied by relatives. The challenges faced by teachers of medical institutions of higher education due to the complex conditions of today make it necessary to look for new approaches in communication and collection of anamnesis. Effective communication skills in medicine require setting up a patient-centered communication model. The personal approach of medical personnel is important as a component of effective communication, taking into account both verbal and non-verbal types of communication. In the conditions of military operations, the psychological state of children should be especially taken into account, depending on the type of displacement and losses suffered by children. It is necessary to pay attention to internal social and psychological problems, to assess the impact of the environment during wartime on the child’s body, to carry out a diagnosis of psychosomatic conditions and to receive help by contacting the social structures of the state or volunteer centers.
