Abstract

Abstract. The article substantiates the relevance and necessity of a wider application of methods and means of distance education in order to optimize the professional and communicative competencies of the future physician. Online education has become a challenge for participants in the educational process on both sides. On the other hand, it facilitated wide implementation and use of already existing resources and at the same time, active update of material at educational platforms. There is the engagement of not only professional but also digital and creative skills of both, the teacher and student. Based on the literature review and our own pedagogical experience, the conditions for more effective use of Internet resources have been determined, in particular during undergraduate studies in simulation education and training centers. The advantages and disadvantages of online education while teaching the discipline “Pediatrics” were analyzed. We took into account modern challenges – the coronaviral pandemic worldwide, and a full-scale war in Ukraine. Nowadays, it is obvious that distance learning may and should be effective and interesting, and gained technology guarantee a higher level of interaction between the teacher and student while face-to-face classes. The diversification of means and methods of online learning, during the study of pediatrics, through the wide implementation of modern educational electronic platforms, and the improved professional competence of the teacher will contribute to better training of a highly qualified master of medicine. Such specialists would be competitive in the job market and will be able to solve complex clinical tasks. This can be achieved by optimizing educational and professional, working and training curriculum syllabi with an emphasis on independent extracurricular work, building of individual educational trajectory for the student, the “flipped classroom” method, constant self-education of the teacher, and academic mobility.
