The birth rate in Ukraine is steadily declining, while there is an increase in the incidence of neonatal diseases that cause disability in children, and infant mortality, the main cause of which is perinatal pathology, remains at a level that greatly exceeds the rates of the majority of European countries. That is why skilful using by future doctors the competencies in compliance with modern demands to provide primary and resuscitation care for newborns, which helps to reduce neonatal mortality and improve the prognosis for the long-term development of the child, today is an urgent need of the time.
The aim – to develop the optimal model of examination pediatric station “Primary and resuscitation care for newborns” as a component of the objective structured practical (clinical) examination for applicants for higher education Master’s degree in 222 “Medicine” in the field of knowledge 22 “Health Care”.
To qualitatively check the level of competencies acquired in pediatric departments during studing at the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 of O. Bohomolets National Medical University as a basis, the ways оf student training optimization and organizing OSCE-2 have been determined.
The passport of the examination pediatric station “Primary and resuscitation care for a newborn” has been presented.
Examination pediatric station “Primary and resuscitation care for newborns” as a component of the objective structured practical (clinical) examination for applicants for higher education Master’s degree in 222 “Medicine” in the field of knowledge 22 “Health Care” is a modern form of the effective control of competencies of future doctors.
