Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is the biggest challenge of our time. As the coronavirus continues to spread in more than 200 countries with more than a million cases of the disease, which unfortunately kills a significant number of lives, the speed of recovery in each country will depend on the ability to respond by limiting infection, health. Unfortunately, most countries are poorly equipped to respond to a pandemic of this magnitude. This can be partly explained by the lack and limitations of junior medical staff.

The article describes general trends, some topics of globalization and international migration of nurses and nursing education, demand, legal regulation and employment of certified nursing professionals.

The study is devoted to the analysis of trends, positive and negative consequences of migration of health workers in the global labor market, generalization of experience and conclusions for Ukraine. The unevenness of economic development is described. In such conditions, the leveling of all obstacles to the movement of labor creates problems for poorer countries. They need a time lag for economic growth and protection of the national labor market, which is contrary to the common European market. The need to analyze the trends and consequences of migration of health workers is important in order to minimize negative externalities, reduce risks. This is especially important in health care, because it directly affects the quality of life of citizens.
