Abstract

Proper medical records are an important part of all healthcare settings. During clinical practice, the physical therapist can evaluate, diagnose, and intervene within his or her competence, so there is a need to document these actions. The article presents the experience of teaching the elective course “Medical documentation in rehabilitation institutions” for bachelors in “Physical Therapy. Occupational therapy. “

The purpose of the work is to emphasize the attention of teachers and students to the importance of gaining knowledge about the importance of medical documentation in the work of rehabilitation institutions in the modern system of professional training of specialists in physical therapy.

The physical therapist should keep clear and well-organized documentation of the results of the diagnosis and evaluation and develop a plan of action. These records are entered into the patient’s medical record by the physical therapist to provide evidence of contact with the patient, to inform the clinical justification process, and to pass information to other professionals. An important task in the training of specialists in physical therapy is to study the basics of documentation that allows you to identify, register, measure and evaluate rehabilitation, as well as determine the effectiveness of rehabilitation, analyze the patient’s condition in subsequent periods of rehabilitation.
