Along with traditional learning technologies, distance learning methods are emerging and actively developing, the use of which allows you to teach and learn individually, regardless of place and time.
Purpose: coverage of certain issues related to the organization of distance teaching with Ukranian and English-speaking students of medical higher educational institution of the IV level of accreditation at the level of the fundamental department.
Medical education and methods of teaching medical sciences have their own characteristics. In particular, the clarity of teaching the material and the predominance of practical classes play a significant role. Thus, distance learning of medical sciences is accompanied by difficulties associated with conducting practical classes, close to real classroom classes with similar efficiency. O. Bohomolets National Medical University switched to distance learning with the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Then the Neuron platform was created, which was replaced in January 2021 by another platform – Likar.nmu (both developed on the basis of the learning management system Moodle). The introduction of these platforms made it possible to unify the process of distance work at the university and create a basis for the restructuring of teaching to another format. The transition of higher education institutions to distance learning has stimulated the rapid development of new technologies in education, in particular, the development of online learning platforms, screening of existing applications for online conferences and identifying the most successful for teaching a particular discipline, developing new teaching methods, remote work, etc. Of course, the teaching of medical disciplines has its own features, which are difficult to transfer to the remote format and at the beginning of the introduction of the distance format seemed impossible. However, the rapid development of technology opens up new opportunities, it is only necessary to have time to master and adapt to a particular discipline.
Medical education can also be successfully translated into distance learning. It is likely that after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, much of the elements of distance education may remain part of the classroom.
