Abstract

The article analyzes the possibility of using educational materials in extra-curricular training for medical students of the third year in the speciality “Radiology”.

The reality when a medical student is mostly studying on the Internet, as well as introducing modern digital technologies into pedagogical practice, allows to improve the extracurricular training of students in the discipline “Radiology”, which in itself provides for visualization of clinical cases. Through the year, with the help of the Microsoft Forms Office add-in, scans of modern radiological examination methods for hematologic and urological patients were uploaded to a clinical subgroup’s electronic mailbox, and the program automatically created a pie chart of students’ answers for the primary visual analysis of uniformity or diversity of results. There was a possibility of remote communication with the teacher, discussion of interesting clinical cases, analysis of mistakes, possibility of testing the acquired knowledge was developed. The results of the study showed positive statistically significant changes in the interpretation of diagnostic images provided for independent work in enrolled students after intermediate work on primary mistakes, indicating the need to combine classroom and online education as complementary rather than exclusive.
