Abstract

The aim of the study – to highlight the versatility of the historical heritage of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University.

The main body. To date, at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University both museums of historical and educational profile, in particular, historical museum of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University, Historical Museum-Estate of Academician I. Ya. Horbachevsky, Museum of the Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Leonid Kovalchuk are functioning. The museums aim to acquaint the university’s visitors with the foundation of success and the main achievements of the educational institution during their many years of functioning, to bring to every history and tradition of the educational institution, to reveal the fate and affairs of the graduates, to show the creative way and achievements of scientists, scientific and social activity of students and to cause pride for their educational institution.

Conclusion. Historical museums of the TSMU are the place of knowledge and knowledge transfer, the center of education and upbringing, they are an inexhaustible treasure of human memory that allows you to touch the soul to live history.
