The aim of the work – to undertake an online study and search in medical publications and journals on key terms in “International monitoring of quality in medical education” as well as the scrutiny and analysis of international research practices in this field.
The main body. The Ukrainian State Organization “Testing board” conducted online search for application of international monitoring of quality in medical education in order to determine condition of education and ways of its improvement in accordance with international and national practices. During the research, the main key terms for such monitoring study were included: mission and objectives, level of realization, target of research, methods of monitoring and assessment, indicators, criteria and standards of their evaluation, stages of monitoring.
Conclusions. There are diverse forms of monitoring in international practice. It is arguable that there is no information about universal tool for monitoring. Nevertheless, different tools for such studies are available depending on goal of research and other key terms indicated above. Moreover, it is not enough to administer foreign standard tests for medical students in order to make a monitoring and evaluation. Such tests operate as knowledge assessment tool; they do not address other issues of education, which monitoring should include.
