INTEGRATION OF DIAGNOSTICS AND COUNSELING IN WORKING WITH CHILDREN WITH SPEECH DISORDERS

Abstract. The article presents a theoretical overview of the issues of integrating diagnostics and counseling in working with children with speech disorders. The state of speech development is determined as an extremely important component of a child’s development, an indicator of their health and determining the breadth of their capabilities. Speech disorders that arise at different stages of their occurrence and implementation are listed. Biological, hereditary and socio-psychological causes are given. It is determined that the diagnostic stage of speech disorders determines the entire course of correctional work, and the integration of diagnostics and counseling with children with speech disorders occurs in the process of speech therapy support. The main directions and predicted results of speech therapy support are determined. Approaches to the topic of integrating diagnostics and counseling of speech disorders are systematized and characterized: medical-psychologicalpedagogical, systemic, interactive, technological, multidisciplinary. Key theoretical aspects were systematized: the unity of diagnostics and counseling as components of correctional work; biopsychosocial model of speech disorders; a systemic approach considers the child as an element of a system that includes the family, educational and social environment, and correctional work is planned taking into account these interactions; orientation on the child’s potential, and not only on the current level of his development; multidisciplinary as a condition for effectiveness. Key practical aspects were systematized: early detection gives better results; combining diagnostics and counseling reduces adaptation time, under such conditions, parents are more consistent; multidisciplinary teams are more effective – the more parties involved, the more correct the selection of work methods will be; family counseling increases the efficiency of work; constant monitoring and correction of the plan gives better results.
