PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF MEDICAL PHYSICISTS IN THE WORLD: THE EXPERIENCE OF AUSTRIA

Based on a review of the scientific literature and the official website of the Medical University of Vienna, the article provides basic data on the Austrian experience in the training of specialists in medical physics. It was emphasized that the basic component in the formation of professional knowledge and skills of future doctors is their natural sciences training. It is noted that today in the structure of the training of doctors there is a tendency to decrease the total percentage of natural science disciplines. At the same time, new diagnostic and treatment methods, in particular positron emission tomography, magnetic resonance tomography, electronic paramagnetic resonance, dopplerography, laparoscopic and laser surgery, and others require basic physical and mathematical knowledge. The content of the training program for specialists in medical physics at the Medical University of Vienna is characterized in this article, as well as the main forms of educational activity and the purpose of training are revealed.
