The article emphasizes that learning Latin is an important prerequisite for professional communication of physicians; the problem of forming students' grammatical competence in Latin classes is considered, since one of the important elements in learning a language is the correct use of grammar to form medical terms. It has been determined that in order to build grammatically correct professional speech, it is necessary to master grammatical concepts and systematically study all aspects of grammar: phonetic, spelling, morphological, and syntactic. Grammatical competence helps to apply knowledge of grammar in the professional speech activities of physicians. It is specified that the formation of grammatical skills takes place in three stages: analysis of grammar rules; application of these rules in exercises; grammar usage for the correct application of medical terms. A system of consolidation exercises plays an important role in the formation of grammar competence. The research identifies the peculiarities of classification of exercises and presents a system of exercises for improving grammar competence in Latin classes when studying the topic “Adjective, grammatical categories of the adjective, division into groups, dictionary form. The Agreed attribute”.
