Abstract

Post-traumatic stress disorder is presented as one of the psychopathological conditions that can lead to the process of interaction between dangers and the organism, including of the stress reaction development link. The complexity of this phenomenon due to the lack of understanding of the pathogenesis full picture at the physiological level, different methodological approaches to determining the prevalence, assessment and dynamics is substantiated. The urgent requirements for the training of first (bachelor’s) level higher education students in specialty 227 “Physical therapy, occupational therapy” for the rehabilitation of individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder have been clarified. The content, specifics, types of activities, forms and methods that are used during the study and teaching of educational components are outlined and are aimed at forming ideas among higher education students about the methodological bases of rehabilitation of individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder.

The main methodological problems faced by students of higher education are identified: terminological uncertainty and inconsistency in the classification of the diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder as a nosological form; understanding the essence of stress and its importance in adaptation and its role in the formation of post-traumatic stress disorder; awareness of the importance of an interdisciplinary approach and the need to implement different strategies.

It has been proven that the understanding by students of higher educational institutions of the stress role in the pathology development is the basis of fundamentally different approaches to the work of treating physicians and rehabilitators with individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder, the main difference of which for the treating physician is the activity aimed at increasing the patient’s resistance, and for a rehabilitator the resilience principle is construct basis.
