INTERDISCIPLINARY INTEGRATION IS AN IMPORTANT DIRECTION OF CREATION OF ELECTIVE DISCIPLINES CURRICULUM PROGRAMS

The article substantiates the advantages of integrative technologies implementation in the educational process of higher medical education institutions when creating of elective disciplines work programs. The expediency of using horizontal interdisciplinary integration in the process of professional training of specialists of the second educational and qualification level “Master” in the specialty 228 “Pediatrics” of the field of knowledge 22 “Health care” has been proven. It is shown that the use of interdisciplinary connections will contribute to the in-depth mastering of knowledge and skills from various disciplines, the formation of new professional competencies taking into account the personal interests of those seeking higher education, and successful competitive professional development.
An analysis of the content of the elective discipline “Fundamentals of pediatric dentistry and prevention of dental diseases” is presented. It is designed for students of the 5th year of the medical faculty No. 3 of the Bogomolets National Medical University. It involves deepening the cognitive experience of future pediatricians regarding modern methods of prevention and treatment of basic dental diseases in childhood: caries and non-carious lesions of teeth hard tissues, diseases of the periodontium, viral and microbial diseases mucous membrane of the oral cavity. The connection between thematic plans of the work training programs of the elective discipline and the discipline “Pediatrics” (including pediatric infectious diseases, clinical immunology and alergology, medical genetics, industrial medical practice (professional training) and pediatric infectious diseases) is highlighted. The study of the elective discipline “Fundamentals of pediatric dentistry and prevention of dental diseases” will provide students of higher education with ample opportunities to: improve and master new practical skills, expand the range of professional competencies, form a clinical type of thinking, comprehensively solve complex medical tasks in the uncertain conditions of today, acquire the necessary professional experience.
